Naruto is an ongoing Japanese manga series that was both written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It was first published in 1999 in Japan’s weekly Shonen Jump magazine. In 2002 the Naruto manga was adapted into an anime, Japanese animation, and the first series ran for 220 episodes. The sequel to the original series, Naruto: Shippuden has been showing since the beginning of 2007. Not only is Naruto a successful manga and animated series, you can also find video games, novels and trading companies too.

As you can see, the Naruto series is extremely popular and as a result there have been six movies made. The first three movies are set during the first anime series and the remaining three from Naruto: Shippunden. The first movie is called Ninja Clash in the Land of the Snow and was released in 2004 in Japan. Then came Legend of the Stone of Gelel in 2005, Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom in 2006, Naruto: Shippuden the Movie in 2007, Naruto Shippuden 2: Bonds in 2008 and the latest, Naruto Shippuden 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire in 2009. Another movie is scheduled to be released in 2010.

Naruto is a ninja who is affiliated with the village of Konhagakure. Unfortunately, the villagers shun Naruto because an evil creature, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox that attacked the village, is sealed with Naruto’s body. As a result, Naruto wants to become the leader of the village so that he can gain recognition amongst his peers. He makes friends with Team 7, a ninja team who take him in and treat him as family. Ninjas were secret agents of feudal Japan who specialized in espionage, sabotage, infiltration, assassination as well as open combat.

As the mysterious nature of the Ninja was secretive, they became the stuff of myths and legends in Japan and sometimes their abilities became rather distorted. They were said to have super-human or supernatural powers such as the ability to become invisible, shapeshift, walk on water and even have control over the elements.

Ninjas used a great variety of weapons such as the Katana, their usual weapon of choice. The Katana is characterized by its curved, slender and single-edged blade and long grip in order to accommodate two hands. It is famous for is sharpness and cutting ability.

If you want to become a Ninja warrior, then dressing in a Naruto or Kakashi costume for Halloween is ideal.
